Gir Cow Ghee is an integral part of every Indian household. It’s not only used for enhancing the flavor of your dishes, but the loaded health benefits in them make it a point to fill your plate with nutrition and delightful aroma. The store-bought ghee can be preserved longer than the one you make at home when preserved correctly. Here are four tips for stretching the Desi ghee’s shelf life to enjoy it for a long time:

Store in an Airtight Container
When ghee comes in contact with direct sunlight, there are chances of it getting spoiled. To keep it safe and fresh for a longer period, make sure you store it in an airtight container and keep it away from direct sunlight or areas where it can be exposed to excessive heat. It is best to store it at room temperature while refrigerating it can also enhance its quality.

Use a Clean Spoon: –
When taking out ghee for usage, make sure you use a clean and unused spoon to avoid contaminating it. The ghee will not last long if it is contaminated with dust or dirt. So, make sure you either use a clean utensil or pour it directly from the container.

Keep it in Different Containers: –
Often, ghee is used daily. Since it is one of the most used products in the kitchen, the frequent opening and closing of the container can lead to drawing moisture that can spoil it. To prevent this situation, it is wiser to use two separate containers – one small and one big – to get the best of it.

For example, you can buy Goseva A2 Gir Cow Ghee and then unload a small quantity into a small jar in your home. Use that small container for daily purposes and keep refilling it accordingly. This way, you don’t draw moisture to the rest of the ghee and can use it for longer.

Check the Material of the Container
Even the container in which you store the ghee plays an important role in extending its life cycle. So, if you use ghee every day, store it in a steel container. A plastic container is good for deep freezing it, and a glass container is counted better for preserving a large quantity of ghee.
